This year has been a whirlwind of many things for me. Between balancing kids, home and a new business, needless to say I have had my hands full. However, as the year is coming to a close I feel a great sense of accomplishment in winning a contest for this years 2016 Art Basel season.

This year the Florida Burlesque Festival, which features performers from all over the world was an endearing tribute to the late Bunny Yeager who died at the age of 85 this year. Bunny was famed for photographing the legendary Betty Page out of Miami Beach, FL. At that time Bunny was a model herself and didn't care for the pictures that other photographers would take of her, so she started taking her own and fell in love with photography. She then started taking pictures of other performers to expand her skills.   Yeager worked with numerous models over the years, but said that Page was uncommonly cooperative.                    "It was like us doing a dance together," Yeager said in an interview last        year in the Sun Sentinel newspaper in Florida. Something about macro photography is captivating and stunning. However, traditional macro lenses can be super expensive, and just not a practical investment for someone who just wants to occasional take these kind of pictures, or just as a hobby.  In this guide and a little help from digital-photography-school.com with  lessons on close-up and macro photography by Andrew S Gibson , I'm going to cover how to use a single reverse macro ring to use an 18-55mm lens as a macro. 

One of the most beautiful sunsets that I've experienced all year was a couple of weeks ago right here in my home town. I took a trip over the the Loxahatachee Everglades after a bout of bad rain storms that kept everyone inside for a few days, had passed. The horizon was dull and blue then in a matter of moments, the sky lit up in a blaze of orange, reds, and pink. It lasted only a few minutes, and in that time i snapped furiously with my camera and got some pretty amazing pictures. Each second was a different sky from the next. One of these photos was even featured on the local News. It was so beautiful that I took a large panoramic with over a dozen pictures, which were then stiched together in post for a whopping 16,000 magapixels wide picture.  Check out the great time lapse i captured as well!
