NOBE car show and galla benefit

Saturday April 26th 2015 was the North Beach Art Gallery Annual car galla and benefit for the Joe DiMaggio Hospital here in South Florida. It was hosted by Brooke Trace and was a wonderful event! There were lots of cars to enjoy but most importantly, the Gallery hosted a silent auction and raffle and all the proceeds went to the hospital. The other stores in the plaza set up tables to sell their own pieces of art and merchandise, and we had fabulous pin girls and body painted girls for everyone's entertainment. The tunes were also flowing with Slip and the Fallouts providing the music. Check it all out below! Dont forget to come follow me on facebook at www.facebook.com/larenpix

South Florida Everglades Parks Part 1

I walk through the different parks around my home town quite often. Since I have a deep love for the Everglades as well, I try to find all the different ways that i can get a view of it. From lovely parks with trails and sidewalks to a backwards dirt road. Trust me...there here in South Florida, hidden, like little gems.

Cruise3sixty- Fort Lauderdale Day 1 for Celebrity Cruises

I had the pleasure of working with Miami Greens Screens in order to photograph the Celebrity Cruise line booth at the Broward convention center for the Cruise3sixty event!. They had the most amazing set up, and by far the most exciting and most viewed booth of the convention. Check out the pictures below!

Pinup Photo-shoot Guide with Miss Marina Elaine Part 1

I recently had the pleasure of doing a photo session for the beautiful Miss Marina Elaine. I mostly shoot outdoors, even my portraits. My home studio is something left to be desired, but I made it work between borrowing some lights and my Photoshop skills, they came out quite lovely.  I loved the look so much, that I have begun upgrading my studio, starting with some new lights! I went for a Vargas style lighting, which if your unfamiliar, is a very high key type of lighting. Very bright and saturated as in the style of photographer Roy Varga

Traveling to Everglades National Park, Florida

This past weekend on the 11th was my birthday! As a treat, I begun my first leg of the Everglades loop, which I plan to eventually travel the entire span of. The weather was beautiful and the skies clear, which made for some very beautiful photos!

Watching the Sunset over the Everglades 4-11-2015

My birthday was on the 11th, so I made my way out to the Glades to capture the last sunset of my 28th year here on earth. I went out to the Arthur R Marshall Everglades Park here in Delray Florida and caught this sunset as a big rain cloud was coming in.

Outdoor portrait photography Guide- My recent portrait session with Shawna Hoffman

Shooting outdoors on location can have its challenges at times. Anything from weather, either ongoing or previous, to other people on the location can either aid or hinder your shooting process. Even if shooting a selfie, the background and the way the light is hitting your face can make all the difference.

26 SIGNS YOU WERE BORN AND RAISED IN FORT LAUDERDALE

Lauren Adams standing on deerfield beach at sunrise 1. You think of Las Olas Boulevard as the height of culture. Fine dining and galleries filled with art you don’t “get.” 2. You struggle with parallel parking along the one stretch of A1A where it’s actually necessary. Nobody taught you this! They said you wouldn’t need to know this!

Spring has arrived in the Northern Everglades!

Spring is definitely here in the Northern Everglades. A couple of weeks ago I started noticing baby insects like the Black Eastern Lubber and the cries of mama and daddy alligators getting ready to mate. If you travel to the Everglades this time of year, its a good idea to keep some extra distance between you and gators, as they become more aggressive during mating season.  Their courtship process usually begins in early April, and mating occurs in May or June. Females build a mound nest of soil, vegetation, or debris and deposit an average of 32 to 46 eggs in late June or early July. Incubation requires approximately 63-68 days, and hatching occurs from mid-August through early September.
